  • For an intellectual designer like Miuccia Prada, her Fall/Winter 2007 collection was one she didn’t over-intellectualize. Instead, according to Sarah Mower for Vogue, it was more an exercise in color and materials to create what Mrs Prada called “something simple but strange”.

    Black wools and camel leathers were punctuated by bright shaggy mohair, fluorescent spongy knits, shiny plastic paillettes, and gold wrinkling—the latter seen on this single-breasted jacket.

    Across the front and back, grey wool twill gradually cascades into perma-wrinkled gold cloquet toward the hem. This fabric keeps its appearance, requiring little maintenance and, evidently, no need for ironing.
