  • For Céline’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, Phoebe Philo focused on clothes built around silhouette and proportion, with clear emphasis on the waist and a precise use of graphic lines for visual interest.

    This sleeveless leather patchwork top is a distilled expression of those ideas: cut to a close fit, it uses angled panels of lambskin and suede to create a sharp geometric motif across the front, with a diagonal seam running from shoulder to hem. Below the waist, the cut flares gently away from the body, suggesting a subtle basque.

    A simple neckline and an invisible back zip helps keep the focus on the top’s interplay of color, texture, and shape.
