  • For Fall/Winter 2013 at Céline, Phoebe Philo explored a softer, more domestic vocabulary of outerwear and separates, using plush, textured fabrics and rounded, cocooning volumes that felt closer to blankets and upholstery. Silhouettes were kept simple and minimal, but surfaces were deliberately tactile to emphasizing ease and comfort.

    This trumpet skirt showcases that approach: made in dense navy alpaca-wool stretch bouclé, a single, precisely cut panel is looped to meet onto one seam at the center back for clean, minimal line.

    It fits smoothly through the waist and hip, and opens into a flared hem that falls in gentle folds, giving the skirt a subtle swing in motion. The full knit construction and pull-on waist reinforce the idea of ease, while the deep navy pile lends a soft, fuzzy hand.

    Worn on the runway with a trapeze-cut knitted cashmere sweater, the skirt embodies the collection’s balance of precision and softness.
