    Shown for Prada’s Fall/Winter 1998, this single-breasted coat in fleece-wool blend coating starts from an almost generic menswear template.

    What makes it particular to the season is the fabric treatment: the wool has been permanently “creased” into a rectilinear grid, so that horizontal and vertical lines run cleanly across the body and sleeves.

    The approach is simple but the effect is graphic and tactile, in line with the collection’s interest in stark geometry through texture, appliques, and finishes rather than print.
