  • At Prada's Fall/Winter 1998 collection, unexpected, tactile materials like fur, plastic, and wrinkled satin were incorporated into minimal silhouettes as a restrained method of creating visual interest in the ready-to-wear.

    This piece follows that approach, using a simple, collarless jacket as the foundation.

    Textural interest comes through in Prada’s use of materials: the jacket is made in talc-toned calfhair, with fox fur at the collar and hem, and fully lined in padded silk satin. The placket has cross-shaped stitches indicating hook-and-eye closures underneath.

    Based on the internal label, it appears to be a press sample for the Fall/Winter 1998 collection. Despite this, it was not shown on the runway, and may not have been commercially produced for retail.
