Minimalist garments in cotton and linen opened Prada’s Spring/Summer 1998 show; understated staples that exemplified minimalism in the late ’90s.
As the show unfolded, these same silhouettes incorporated various forms of embellishment: beading, geometric prints, and bimaterial construction, as seen in this sleeveless dress.
Made in light linen canvas, this dress is cut on the bias. The yoke and hem are in sheer silk chiffon, joined to the body of the dress with zig-zag stitches in gold thread, and their edges finished with rolled hems.
