  • Céline’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection was an exploration of the female form, culminating in white dresses printed with Yves Klein’s Anthropométries. This multicolored dress takes the opposite approach, to conceal what those prints expose.

    The bodice covers only the front, leaving the back fully bare in a continuous line from nape to lower back. Cut as an inverted triangle, it features a boat neckline with elasticated straps, narrowing into a keyhole from which the skirt falls.

    That keyhole detail also controls the fit: when twisted using the bodice, it creates tension and draws the skirt in for a tighter waistband. The fabric is a basketweave-printed viscose jersey, giving the look of a woven canvas with the lightness and drape of jersey.
