    Designer Phoebe Philo (British, 1973–)
    Collection Fall/Winter 2014

    Place of origin Italy

  • According to Tim Blanks, Phoebe Philo looked to female surrealist art figures from the 1930s like Hannah Höch and Lee Miller for inspiration for her Fall/Winter 2014 show. Whether intended or not, the outerwear in this collection took an equally surrealist route in cut and proportion, including this jacket.

Made in compact double-face stretch wool, the body and sleeves are tailored to a close fit. The collar is cut askew, opening into a wide, shoulder-baring portrait neckline that appears to peel away from the body. White buttons are placed askew on the double breasted front, each with matching white buttonholes.
